There’s something magical about traveling with your sister – that perfect mix of shared memories, inside jokes and an unspoken rhythm that makes every moment more special. And when the destination is the vibrant French Riviera, magic becomes unforgettable.
We explored the coastline together – from the elegance of Nice, to the glitz of Monaco and day trips that brought us to the golden shores of Cannes and Saint-Tropez. Here’s our unforgettable itinerary filled with sunshine, flavors, architecture and laughter.
Nice: the heartbeat of the riviera
Our base was Nice, and it stole our hearts immediately. From the moment we walked along the iconic Promenade des Anglais, the sea breeze and shimmering turquoise water made us feel like we were in a movie.
We strolled through Old Town (Vieux Nice) with its colorful facades, cobbled alleys and bustling markets. The Cours Saleya flower market was a feast for the senses – bright blooms, artisan soaps and the irresistible smell of fresh-baked socca (a chickpea pancake you must try).
Architecture lovers will fall in love with the Belle Époque buildings, pastel shutters and art-deco facades. Don’t miss the view from Castle Hill (Colline du Château) – a panoramic lookout over the Baie des Anges that’s worth every step.
Monaco: glamour in a day
Just a short train ride away, Monaco greeted us with royal charm and James Bond vibes. The Monte Carlo Casino stuns with its lavish architecture.
We explored the Old Town perched on the Rock of Monaco, where the Prince’s Palace, charming streets and cathedral quietly contrast the glamour below. The Oceanographic Museum was a surprise highlight – both for its exhibits and stunning sea views.
Dining in Monaco? Expect luxury. We found a lovely terrace café overlooking the marina – perfect for people-watching and sipping rosé.
Day trips: Cannes & Saint-Tropez
- Cannes was all about cinema charm and chic boutiques. Walking the Boulevard de la Croisette, imagining the red carpet during the film festival was surreal. We even found time for a beach break and a seafood lunch with a view.
- Saint-Tropez was a bliss. A ferry ride from Nice brought us into this harbor town full of mega-yachts, designer stores and Provençal soul. We wandered through La Ponche, the old fishing quarter and ended the day with ice cream by the water. Picture-perfect.
Food, fun & sisterhood
Food on the Côte d’Azur is a celebration and evenings were made for fun – live music in Nice’s squares, sunset cocktails, spontaneous photo shoots and hours of laughter. ✨
